About us

Formed in 1948, the University of Leicester Boat Club is now the biggest mixed society at the university. Based in Leicester at Leicester Rowing Club and Nottingham at the National Watersports Centre, our rowers have access to the highest quality of facilities and equipment.

We accept a large intake of members at the start of every academic year and throughout their first year in the club they will transition from learning to row for the first time to racing across the country at some of the biggest races in the World.

Our senior squads, based at the National Watersports Centre from the start of the 2017/2018 academic year, train and race throughout the year, starting with Nottingham Autumn Head in November through to Henley Royal Regatta and Women's Henley Regatta in June/July.

Both our novice and senior squads have seen great success in recent years, including Top 12 finishes at both BUCS head and BUCS regatta, as well as qualifying for both Henley Royal Regatta and Henley Women's Regatta in 2017.
